Bologna Welcomes the Scientology Volunteer Ministers Travelling Exhibition
Bologna's Piazza Lucio Dalla is hosting the travelling yellow tent of the Volunteer Ministers of Scientology, remaining in Piazza Lucio Dalla until 8 September.
The inauguration brought together around 100 participants, including representatives of communities assisted by Volunteer Ministers after natural disasters.
Among them was Pianoro Mayor Luca Vecchiettini, who recalled the assistance provided following the 2024 floods. Restaurateur Fabrizio Lazzarini also spoke emotionally about the assistance received when his restaurant was affected by mud and water.
Andrea Ferrarini, formerly involved with civil protection in Bondeno, also remembered assistance provided after the 2012 earthquakes.
The Volunteer Ministers programme was established in 1976 by L. Ron Hubbard, founder of Scientology, the programme combines community assistance with disaster-response activities.
Inside the Bologna tent, visitors can view photographs and videos documenting Volunteer Ministers activities while learning about communication, relationships, study, work and family life.
Ivan Arjona, representative of the Church of Scientology to the EU, OSCE, Council of Europe and UN, described the Bologna initiative as an example of practical solidarity eu news today uk and civic responsibility.
The Bologna exhibition highlights a programme that operates both in times of disaster and in everyday community life.
